Bad Moon Rising: The Unofficial History of Creedence Clearwater Revival
Fame and lasting quality don't often go hand in hand during the last half of the twentieth century...
"... This is a book to be admired. Well researched, it tells the story of Creedence--warts and all (and believe me there are plenty of em). ..."
"... It's all in here, and the author Hank Bordowitz builds up the story beautifully. ... "

Up Around the Bend: An Oral History
From the beginning, there was something deeply mythic about Creedence Clearwater Revival...
"... A very good book. It has comments from all the members of the band on the bands' rise, fall, and aftermath. The author does a good job of mixing old interviews with newer ones. He also inserts comments and observations on why the band, and John Fogerty in particular, have become such an american staple. ... "

Finding Fogerty: Interdisciplinary Readings of John Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival
Finding Fogerty: Interdisciplinary Readings of John Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival, edited by Thomas M. Kitts, begins to correct the scholarly neglect of John Fogerty, one of America’s great songwriters, one of the rock era’s great vocalists, and one of its underrated guitarists and producers. This essential collection pulls together scholars from a wide range of disciplines and approaches to assess Fogerty’s fifty-year career and to argue for his musical and cultural significance. The composer of American classics like “Proud Mary,” “Fortunate Son,” “Green River,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” and “Centerfield,” Fogerty first achieved commercial success with the release of Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1968. As the band’s songwriter, lead singer, lead guitarist, and producer, Fogerty led CCR in a blistering output of 10 top-ten singles and seven gold albums before disbanding CCR in 1972. Divided into four sections (“Born on the Bayou,” “Run Through the Jungle,” “Centerfield, ”and “Keep on Chooglin’”), Finding Fogerty investigates Fogerty’s songs, life, and legacy, and stands as a tribute to one of America’s most treasured musical legends.

"... I was very excited to get it. I lost the one I bought new on 1998 for $20.00 in a yard sale. I had to sale lot of my music because I got lyme disease from tick bites in 2008 and had to buy tones of meds for about 2 years. I'm just now comming back and was suprized at the cost of a new one. This one was in better shape than the one I sold. Love the music and the simplicity of John's guitar licks....
" "... If you're looking for the full sheet music this isn't the book for you. This book breaks out key sections of the songs, intro, chorus, solos etc, in accurate tabs and gives tips on how to play them. Also has sound files for the sections to hear what is going on in the tabs. Good for learning CCR..."

Best of Creedence Clearwater Revival
"... I love this book! I have been a fan of CCR for a long time, and trying to play Fogerty's guitar parts just from internet tabs and/or by ear, is extremely difficult. The Guitar Recorded Versions tab book is easy to read, has the all of the lyrics and multiple guitar parts all together. There are chord diagrams at the beginning of every song as well. I have been playing for maybe a year now, and this is my favorite tab book because of the readability, quality of print, layout of the information...and of course, it's Creedence.

For the money, it's hard to beat any of the Guitar Recorded Versions tab books from Hal Leonard, and the Best of CCR is no different. Highly recommended! "
